He walks out from the kitchen, having heard the door chime, he throws the towel over his shoulder. “why, hello there, can I help you?”
Bubbles looks up and quickly wipes away the few tears that formed hoping he didn’t see them.
“Uh, oh uh, yes. Umm would you happen to have any tea?”
He flashes her a smile, “one moment.” He walks back into the kitchen, then comes out with a box measuring roughly 2 feet wide, and twelve inches deep. He then sets it down in front of her, opening the lid, “Yes… I have tea… many, many kinds from all over, what would you like?”
“Oh wow, um, you got anything spicy?”
“Now Miss, what sort of spicy are you looking for? i’ve got teas with pepper notes, with ginger notes, got one weird one with horseradish notes…”
“I’ll take ginger”
He sorts through the packets, “any sort of accompanying flavour you’d like with the ginger? sour? sweet? fruity?”
“Sweet…please”
he scratches his chin, sifting through the ginger teas, “hmm, i just got a fresh shipment in from Kurita, I haven’t had a chance to try it myself yet, sounds interesting- flavour notes say its yubari melon forward, with a ginger finish, how’s that sound?”
Bubbles looks thoughtfully and nods her head
“Yes, I think that sounds perfect”

Bubbles enters alone, walking with purpose and sits down at the bar top. She eyes the bell on the counter. ding ting
“oh, hello Ms. Bubbles, how are you today?
She glances at the bottles behind him “You wouldn’t happen to have any Gin back behind there would you?”
He Looks at her, smiling, “well, I’ve just gotten a fresh supply of unusual bottles- along with what’s in stock here- if you’d give me a moment, I can grab the invoice, see if there’s anything that may be to your taste.”
“I’d love to see the invoice”
“One Moment Please” He gets up, walking into the back, grabbing the invoice, and walking back out front with it, “Here you go Ms. Bubbles”
“Thank you” she reads along the list and stops halfway down, placing her finger on it. “This sounds interesting” she turns the paper to show what she’s pointing at
He looks down at the list, smiling, “indeed it does, a new varietal out of Lyran Space, I ordered a couple bottles because it sounded quite interesting… it’s a Black Tomato Gin. It’s got a quite interesting… viny, earthy note… really unique stuff!”
“Lyran eh? Sounds good”
He grabs one of the three bottles he got, cracking the bottle open, pouring her a snifter, “care to try it?”
She takes a sip. “Hmmm, that’s not bad. Black tomato huh. Shake it with ice and throw a few olives in there and we’re good to go”
He chuckles softly, “or a bit of a saline solution, really bring out that tomato flavour”
It has come to my attention that, due to the cultural differences here in Kurita space, our diplomats neglected to present a gift at the commencement of our negotiations with the esteemed Syrup Baroness of the Periphery, Breaker of Breakfast Chains, Freelance Disaster with Puppy, Curator of Fine Crimes & Better Vibes, Supreme Snack Negotiator, Opportunistic Archaeologist, Licensed chaos, Pirate Extraordinaire AND Galactic wild card, Ex-War Captain Mikkeila “Misha” Rose.
As to avoid both her justified wrath, and the shame induced seppuku that would follow, we present her this case of “Kurita Akaisake,” also known as “Rose Sake.” Brewed with the exceedingly difficult-to-use red yeast, this lovely rose-colored sake exists within a sphere of balance between sweet and tart, and has a flavour that resembles wild strawberries.
We felt that only a sake this special was suited for this occasion, and hope she is pleased with both the gift and the lucrative bounty in any and all future arrangements.
